Jae M. Shin, Founder/Director
Ms. Jae Shin holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Vocal Performance from the Juilliard School. She also studied Piano and Chemistry at Northwestern University. She founded Soyulla Artists, the parent company of Soyulla CenterSTAGE, in 2001, with the goal of bringing an accessible, joyful, and first-rate music education to young children's homes. Soyulla Artists has since grown to serve the New York City Metropolitan area, and its roster of Artists regularly perform on the world's greatest stages.
Teresa Shyr, Artistic Director
Teresa received her BM in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music and her BA in Art History from the University of Rochester. She is an Arts Leadership Program Certificate Fellow and a recipient of the Certificate of World Music. She is a classically trained pianist with vast experience in arts administration, ranging from small non-profits to large institutions, often with components of social justice and accessible art.
Sebastian Kim, Administrative & Executive Associate
Sebastian received his Bachelor's degree in Music (Classical) from New York University, having first studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He is a professional pianist and instructor with extensive performing and teaching experience in California and New York. In addition to being a Soyulla Teaching Artist, he is the company's Administrative & Executive Associate.
Julia Hoffmann, Artistic Associate
Julia holds her BFA in Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory and is a proud National Theater Institute and Moscow Arts Theater Alumna. In addition to acting, she is a professional violinist/fiddler and was previously seen on the national tours of Once the Music, Rockin' Road to Dublin, Cirque Musica, and Christmas in Killarney. You can catch Julia playing and singing around New York City!
Elizabeth Walsh, Administrative Assistant
Elizabeth is a composer and performer who specializes in microtonalities and improvisation. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music from Vassar College and her MA in Music Theory and Composition from Montclair State University. She studied piano for many years, and is now primarily a bassist and guitarist. She mostly records and performs around the New York City area.
